High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of “Introduction to the Child Care Profession” course
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Cleared background and fingerprint check
- Enrollment in the Wisconsin Registry at Level 3 or higher
- Some college coursework or credentials in Early Childhood Education
- Completion of required preservice and continuing education training hours
- Knowledge of Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS)
- Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, nurturing learning environment for children
