St. Anthony Preschool is currently looking for a Lead Teacher. Ideal candidates will contribute to highly motivated, collaborative students.

Full-time/12-month

LEAD TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor's Degree in related (preferred) or unrelated field
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Works independently with little direct supervision, works as part of a team, accepts responsibility and is self-motivated, demonstrates strong work ethic, and displays effective multi-tasking and time management skills.
LEAD TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Plan both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy, and weekly themes
• Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child

• Maintain a daily routine

• Tend to basic needs of children including, but not limited to, diapering and toileting

• Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning and preparation

• Help with coordination of field trips

• Prepare lesson plans and implement developmentally appropriate activities

• Complete assessment of children's development

• Report progress and concerns of children to parents

• Maintain daily open communication with parents

• Keep accident reports

• Maintain anecdotal records

• Maintain confidentiality

• Report any suspect abuse to supervisor

• Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy

• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment

• Inspect, clean, and replace damaged or lost materials

• Attend in-service and monthly staff meetings

• Supervise assistants, aides and volunteers in the classroom

• Keep all appropriate records up to date such as attendance, meal counts, and time sheets.

• Meet all applicable licensing and Young Star regulations

• Assist preschool director in planning and distribution of newsletters and parent communication

• Plan monthly goals for each child

• Meet all guidelines detailed in evaluation specifically planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, professional responsibilities
