OverviewThe Wauwatosa School District (WSD) is seeking candidates to serve as a Special Education Teacher at Vel R. Phillips. Vel R. Phillips serves approximately 113 students. The position prefers experience with opportunity youth programming and would work with grades 6th‑12th. The teacher delivers quality instruction to District students, equipping and inspiring them to conquer their challenges now and in the future.
Responsibilities- Provide quality instruction to special education students in grades 6‑12, incorporating opportunity youth programming and individualized learning plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Experience with opportunity youth programming.
- Experience teaching grades 6‑12.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to equity and inclusion in education.
