This is a 52-week position, year-round. Working 38.75 hours a week.

Under the direction of the Director, Student Accommodations, the Specialist, Student Accommodation & Transition (Full-time) supports prospective and current students with disabilities through high-quality service delivery across the admissions, registration, and program selection process. This role provides broad-based academic exploration specific to transition needs, facilitates enrollment, supports recruitment outreach, and ensures compliance with ADA requirements and institutional policy. The position contributes to student retention and overall institutional success by promoting MATC programs in the community and collaborating effectively with internal departments and external partners.

Work is cross-functional and diverse. Challenging, high-volume environment, that requires multitasking skills, the ability to meet deadlines and deal with difficult situations. Receive limited supervision within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Resource Guidance:
Identifies and refers students in need of additional academic resources, career planning, personal or financial counseling, and/or special needs to appropriate Pathway team member(s) or other college office(s). Guides students to access college resources, including navigating the student portal to attain self-sufficiency in college transactions. Uses appropriate tools and software to generate and maintain applicable, accurate student reports that are student specific, meeting summaries and tracking notes.

Presentations, Welcome Activities, and Event Facilitation:
Represents MATC at high schools, community organizations, orientation sessions, and college fairs; promotes programs, pathways, and support services. Plans, organizes, and hosts large transition events (e.g., resource fairs, orientation workshops, testing days) including logistics, stakeholder coordination, and post-event follow-up. Prepares and presents presentations regarding the admissions process/requirements, including general college, academic programming, program cost, and financial aid information. Organizes and participates in campus welcome activities for newly accepted students in coordination with the College's other orientation programs.

Compliance and Documentation:
Verifies student compliance with documentation of disability and ADA requirements. Ensures timely and accurate processing of accommodation requests. Manages forms and documentation for clinical placements and practicum sites, including accommodation letters, site requirements, and confirmation of readiness. Upholds institutional procedures and legal obligations related to ADA, Section 504, and FERPA.

Customer Service and Student Support:
Provides responsive, student-centered services in-person, by phone, and via email/online platforms; triage inquiries and deliver timely, accurate information. Utilizes inclusive communication practices and maintain confidentiality consistent with FERPA and ADA guidelines.

Support and Liaison Services:
Guides students throughout the transition to MATC, including program exploration and referral to appropriate support services. May guide students to other college resource teams to reviews transcripts, placement scores, IEPs/504 plans, and testing accommodations; assist with registration and onboarding. May proctors pre- and post-assessments/exams in accordance with approved accommodations and testing protocols. May provide light career exploration guidance. May utilize a language interpreter to assure understanding of program requirements and career pathway options at MATC.
