Job Responsibilities

The Master Instructors are responsible for direct student assessment and instruction, progress documentation, academic progress, family communication, and attendance, participation in all professional development and pre‑session planning seminars. They assess students, analyze data, and write assessment‑based intervention plans based on the CLIFFTOP model, draft initial and progress reports, and share them with families. Lesson plans include semester objectives, teaching strategies, and home extension plans.

They deliver instruction under the direction of the Director over the course of the semester, adjusting based on monitoring of student progress.

Work Breakdown

80% - Assess students, analyze data, write intervention plans, draft reports, and deliver instruction.

15% - Communicate with families about scheduling, reports, and home extensions.

5% - Participate in professional development.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction including grading.
  • Supervise the day‑to‑day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed.
  • Develop teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy.
  • Assist in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in the disciplinary area and identify ways new techniques could assist.
  • Assess learner performance and prepare reports recommending instructional improvements.
  • Assist in defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying out program duties.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Hold a relevant Wisconsin Teaching Certification or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Classroom literacy or intervention experience.
  • Hold relevant Wisconsin Teaching

    Certifications:

    reading teacher license (1316) and/or reading specialist license (5017).
  • Master of Arts or Master of Science in Reading/Literacy, Special Education, or Speech and Language.
Compensation

• Tutoring:
Lump sum pay rate of $1,400 per student per semester.

• Pre‑tutoring assessment / Pre‑ and Post‑tutoring reporting: $350 per student per semester.
Total: $1,750 pay per student per semester.
