The Violence Prevention Program Assistant will assist with the delivery, planning, and development of programs, trainings, and services related to sexual and relationship violence prevention and education. The Violence Prevention Program Assistant will report to the Sexual and Relationship Violence Prevention Coordinator (SRVPC) and work collaboratively with the SRVPC, other SHAW professional staff, and other stakeholders to advance intersectional, evidence-based, and student-centered prevention efforts.

Qualifications

Required
  • Actively enrolled in graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
  • Comfortable with discussing sexual violence, relationship violence, healthy sexuality, and related topics.
  • Able to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, psychology, education, sociology, gender studies, behavioral health sciences, or related field.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Interpersonal skills such as (but not limited to) empathy and communication.
  • Creativity skills such as (but not limited to) digital design, storytelling, creative thinking, and content creation.
  • Willingness to lead small- to medium-size group discussions.
  • Desire to grow and develop professional skills.
  • Knowledge of data collection and different survey methods.
