Part‑time Faculty – Pharmacy Technician / Community Pharmacy TechnicianUnder the supervision of the Associate Dean or designee, the instructor will teach classroom and laboratory courses for diploma and vocational diploma students. Responsibilities include developing and teaching all pharmacy technician courses, advising students, maintaining laboratory facilities, ordering equipment, planning and supervising clinical learning experiences, evaluating student achievement, revising curriculum, helping formulate departmental policy and procedures, evaluating program effectiveness, enhancing student achievement, participating in departmental activities, and other duties as assigned.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness.
- Manage equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in recruiting and retaining students, and assist in marketing MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow‑up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development, and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pharmacist
:
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or higher;
Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
Pharmacy Technician
:
Bachelor’s degree or higher; graduate of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred.
Minimum 3 years full‑time or equivalent (6,000 hours) practice experience in pharmacy with at least 2 years of sterile compounding experience within the last 5 years as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician. Hands‑on sterile compounding experience in a cleanroom environment in accordance with USP is required.
Preferred ExperienceExperience in USP and USP compliance programs, including environmental monitoring, cleanroom operations oversight, documentation or audit processes. Experience in a lead, supervisory, or educator role within sterile compounding operations, including training staff and supporting competency assessment programs.
Additional Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning strongly preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of assessment of student academic achievement techniques.
- Must meet State of Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Certification Requirements.
- Must meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards if applicable.

- Emerging Technologies – experience with emerging technologies such as social networking applications.
