Job Duties

The Master Instructors are responsible for direct student assessment and instruction, progress documentation, academic progress, family communication, and attendance and participation at all professional development and pre‑session planning seminars. Responsible for direct student assessment and instruction with fidelity to CLIFFTOP intervention model.

Job Responsibilities

80% – Master Instructors will assess students, analyze data and write assessment‑based intervention plans based on the CLIFFTOP model, as well as draft initial and progress reports, which are shared with families. As the foundation for student instruction, these lesson plans will include semester objectives, teaching strategies, and home extension plans. Master Instructors deliver instruction under the direction of the Director over the course of the semester adjusting instruction based on ongoing monitoring of student progress.

15% – Communicate with families about scheduling, student reports, and weekly home extensions.

5% – Actively participate in initial and ongoing professional development.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction including grading
  • Supervises the day to day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
  • Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy
  • Assists in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in disciplinary area and may help identify ways in which new techniques could be of assistance
  • Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • Assists in defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying out program duties

Compensation

Tutoring:
Lump sum pay rate of $1400 per student per semester

Pre‑tutoring assessment/Pre- and Post‑tutoring reporting: $350 per student per semester

Total: $1750 pay per student per semester

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Holds relevant Wisconsin Teaching Certification or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Classroom literacy or intervention experience
  • Holds relevant Wisconsin Teaching Certification: reading teacher license (1316) and/or reading specialist license (5017)
  • Master of Arts or Masters of Science in Reading/Literacy, Special Education, or Speech and Language
