Job Title
Supervisory Caregiver
Essential FunctionsAlways supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children, being alert for the needs of the children as individuals and as a group. Function as an additional caregiver for a group of children. Assist teacher in any way possible which may include, but is not limited to the following:
- Suggest ideas for the current curriculum
- Implement the daily program
- Decorate the room and/or bulletin boards
- Teach social skills necessary for development
- Keep classroom and storage areas neat and orderly
- Wash/disinfect classrooms and toys
- Monitor student performance
- Engage in small group learning and activities with children
Follow directions of teachers regarding staffing needs of the program. Enforce rules or policies that govern student behavior. Attend and participate in team meetings; if necessary. Be familiar with and follow all center policies, procedures, state regulations and accreditation standards. Report to teacher any cases of suspected child abuse and neglect. Attend and assist with field trips. Assist teacher in supervising and directing subs and volunteers.
All other duties as assigned.

- Must have ability to cope with changes in routine to accommodate needs of the school
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at a time
- Must be able to continually interact with co-workers, parents and children in a positive manner
- Inside work environment 90% of the time
- Exposure at times to cold or warm conditions when outside with the children

- 16 years of age
- Wisconsin state certified class in Early Childhood I within six months of hire:
Introduction to the Childcare Profession
- Strong nurturing skills
- Understand and follow written and verbal directions
- Read, write, basic math skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive and friendly attitude
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to function effectively in a team setting
- Ability to adjust to various work changes that occur throughout the day
