College Lecturer
Under the supervision of the Dean of Manufacturing, Construction & Transportation, this instructor develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. The instructor may teach at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, and course and curriculum development in both traditional and non‑traditional formats.
Responsibilities- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching‑related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow‑up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum
Educational Requirements:
Must have completed a registered apprenticeship in the Electricity Trade. - Required Occupational
Experience:
Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of full‑time or equivalent (14,000 hours) occupational experience in the electricity trade as an apprentice or journey level electrician in construction and/or industrial maintenance, or a combination of both. Up to two (2) years of occupational experience in commercial or industrial electrical system design can be counted toward occupational experience. - In addition to the above, at least one of the following must be met:
- Three (3) years of occupational work experience occurred within the last five (5) years.
- Two (2) years of teaching Electricity coursework at the post‑secondary level within the last five years (equivalent to two semesters full‑time of four semesters part‑time).
- Required Industry or Vendor Certification: Apprenticeship certificate from Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards or equivalent.
- Required Licensure: Must have a current license as a Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician from the State of Wisconsin.

- Technology‑based Instruction – Experience with SMART symposium, interactive touch‑screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology
- Emerging Technologies – Experience with emerging technologies (e.g., social networking applications)
Start Date: This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in the fall 2025 semester (approximately mid‑August).
Hours: Up to 0.5 FTE; hours per week will vary based on enrollment and departmental need. Daytime and/or evening availability required.
Modality: IN PERSON at our Milwaukee Downtown or an off‑site location. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin; work outside the state is strictly prohibited.
