Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, the instructor will teach conventional machining, CNC machining set‑up and operations in a laboratory setting; and provide general support and curriculum assistance to learning activities in related subjects in the area of machine tool operations and programming. Related duties include participation in division and department activities and the performance of other duties as assigned.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow‑up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.
Required Minimum Education:- Must have completed a Wisconsin Registered Apprenticeship in Machine Tool or Tool & Die.
- Met Wisconsin State Apprenticeship standards in Machine Tool/Tool & Die.
Experience:
- Must have 5 years (10,000 hours) of work experience in Machine Tool.
- In addition, one of the following must be met:
- At least one year of experience must have occurred within the past 5 years.
- Two years of teaching Machine Tool coursework at the post‑secondary level within the last 5 years (1 year of teaching experience equivalent to 2 semesters full‑time, or 4 semesters part‑time).

- Experience with emerging technologies (e.g. social networking applications)
Start Date: This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start when needed; primarily looking for candidates who teach classes during weekdays.
