Overview
SEA Literacy (SEAL) provides year-round ESL lessons, homework tutoring, and recreational activities to refugee youth in Milwaukee, from kindergarten through college. We meet on Tuesday evenings 6-8 pm and Saturdays mornings 10 am–12 pm, with field trips and special events throughout the year. Students participate by choice to improve English, do better in the classroom, and meet peers. The program focuses on helping refugee students become more fluent in English and more connected with peers and society.
As a volunteer, you will help students read, learn and speak English, play games, work on STEM or art projects, and assist them with homework. If you have a skill you can teach (e.g., chess, knitting, etc.), we would love to work with you.
