Building Substitute Teacher

This is for the 26/27 School year.

• Valid teaching credential or Wisconsin 3-year substitute teacher permit.
• To qualify for the 3-year permit, an applicant must have earned a minimum Bachelor's degree and be hired by a district.
• Successful completion of the Substitute Training Workshop offered by the District.
• Must keep all credentials current.

You will be placed daily in an unfilled assignment. At times, there will be longer term placements and placement as a support staff member, such as an educational assistant.

• Instruction, supervision, and training of individuals or groups of students in a regular and/or special education setting.
• Conduct instruction in various educational environments, including classrooms, learning centers, vocational programs, community sites, and other institutional facilities.
• Carry out the absent teacher’s prepared lesson plans.
• Perform all essential functions during prolonged absences.
• Travel to various buildings throughout the district as scheduled.
• Remain for the entire workday.
• Take any necessary steps to protect yourself and others against occupational accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
