Primary role:
The Coordinator, Student Success will provide welcoming services and programs to graduate students. Contributions include new student registration; coordination of initiatives promoting graduate students’ academic wellbeing, sense of belonging and retention; MBA student advising; and support for graduate student communications, records and events.
- Provide academic advising for all MBA students, managing time and appointments to provide high level of student support.
- Monitor MBA degree progress, ensuring accurate records prior to advising periods and graduation deadlines; proactively request substitutions and corrections as needed. Lead information transfer for MBA business essentials course waivers.
- Prepare weekly “GSM Outlook” email; oversee messages for advising preparation including course and elective summaries. Maintain portions of the GSM website serving continuing students.
- Leverage data analysis to monitor student outcomes and inform advising strategies, collaborating with supervisor and Graduate School Records to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Lead or participate in student‑serving events such as new student welcome events and commencement.
- Lead data collection efforts related to GSM alumni, including first‑destination survey for new graduates and other career outcomes; create and manage GSM alumni database.
- At least 1 year of related experience, which may include internships or assistantships during graduate studies.
- A master’s degree or in the process of completing one in business, counseling, or education.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional presence.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical thinking to solve problems and develop original ideas and innovative solutions.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience coordinating programs or events.
- Experience collecting and leveraging data via student records systems to improve student outcomes.
- Ability to leverage social media platforms.
