The ideal candidate will be an exceptional collaborator and team player, have a deep understanding of all content areas, and an ability to connect with and inspire students. We are particularly interested in educators passionate about working in urban education as a part of a high-performing, driven staff.
Ideal candidates will also be well versed in strategies to promote metacognitive engagement and be willing to go the extra mile for students. Candidates should be organized, detail oriented, and show expertise in developing lesson plans.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction in reading, writing, math, and other subjects as assigned.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including small-group and individual support.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress; use assessment data to inform instruction.
- Possess a general understanding of academic standards and utilize student assessment data to inform instruction and support improved learning outcomes.
- Seek out opportunities to integrate Biblical truth with their lessons.
- Integrate character education and/or faith-based values into daily lessons.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behavior in a consistent and effective manner, promoting courage, respect, integrity, and perseverance through the development and maintenance of positive relationships with students.
- Serve as the cultural and spiritual model for their students, always interacting respectfully and striving to demonstrate God’s love to their students and families.
- Effectively communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior, and needs.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
- Be open to coaching and feedback to continuously improve teaching practices and support positive student outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to implement instruction with fidelity.
- Collaborate as a team player and proactively offer solutions as challenges arise throughout the school year.
- Collaborate with colleagues, instructional aides, and support staff to enhance student learning.
- Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues, supervisors, students, parents/guardians, and community members, maintaining positive, solution-oriented relationships that foster a strong, inclusive environment for optimal learning.
- Continuously seek professional growth through building and department meetings/professional development, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars/in-services.
- Serve as a role model for students by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and positive behavior.
- Remain open-minded to professional growth and actively engage in the school community as we continue to grow and evolve over the coming years.
- Monitor and support students during morning arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal.

- Passion for working with young children and fostering creativity and confidence.
- Bachelor's Degree, including any other requirements for accreditation, (Master’s degree a plus). State teaching license preferred but not required.
