Job Description
Under the direction of the Dean of Community Education this position collaborates in the general operations of the Dual Enrollment team, Community Education programs including Integrated Education & Training (IET), Adult High School (AHS), GED, and HSED programs. Additionally, each Associate Dean may provide an oversight role in one or more of Community Education Hub's operations. An emphasis of this position is for the direct support for high school programs, dual enrollment and dual credit, and transitions from community education programs into the college's seven major pathways.
Finally, the Associate Dean will provide a support role to the dean in the oversight of all grants related to supporting Community Education.
The Associate Dean is an innovative learning leader who works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other administrators in developing and sustaining high quality academic programs to ensure student success. They will encourage and foster a culture of inquiry about student learning in support of various college strategic initiatives, work in collaboration with district‑wide administration, as well as community partners to align programs to college traditional, technical and transfer programs.
The Associate Dean will collaborate with the Dean in the planning, directing, and evaluating all assigned functions associated with maintaining and delivering quality academic programs.

- AHS, Dual Enrollment, GED, HSED, and IET Programs: Guide staff in the development, daily management, and support for each of the five programs at MATC.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Manage relationships with key stakeholders including academic and student support offices, pathway staff members, students, industry partners and faculty. Collaborate with teams in various functions and design strategies to improve communication and collaboration across teams, continuously improving external and internal relationships to aid faculty development, instructional delivery, and program growth. Identify opportunities for innovation, growth and expansion.
- Curriculum and Instruction: Under direction of the dean, responsible for oversight of the development and ongoing review of curriculum through a pathway curriculum committee and assurance of coordination with other impacted programs across the college. Support the dean for required annual program reviews and program vitality process.
- Strategic Decision Making: Collaborate with the Dean and district‑wide administration on aligning programs and curriculum to labor market needs and maximize opportunities for student success. Serve as a participant and leader in the Dean's management team. Provide leadership in program and curriculum management.
- Enrollment and Class Schedule Oversight: Faculty load and assignment is the primary responsibility of the Associate Dean (with final approval by the dean). Coordinate with the scheduling offices and lead faculty to approve the schedule of classes and assign staffing as needed for classes. Maintain master course and curriculum files for the assigned academic program. Ensure quality, uniformity and compliance in all publications.
Support curriculum and instruction delivered within the program to ensure quality, completion, retention and effectiveness of courses. - Faculty Administration: Assist with hiring of all part‑time faculty by reviewing credentials, interviewing, and recommending those best qualified for the position.
