Position Type: Full-Time (possibly Part-Time)

Position

Summary

Bader Hillel Academy is seeking an engaging, student-centered Middle School Science Teacher to inspire curiosity and a love of scientific discovery in students. The ideal candidate creates an active, hands-on learning environment where students ask questions, solve problems, and develop the critical thinking skills necessary for success in high school and beyond.

This teacher will cultivate a classroom culture built on academic excellence, respect, responsibility, and meaningful relationships while collaborating closely with colleagues and families to support each student's growth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Teach middle school science to students
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with Wisconsin academic standards.
  • Incorporate laboratory investigations, demonstrations, technology, and project-based learning into instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and challenge students at varying academic levels.
  • Foster scientific thinking through observation, experimentation, analysis, collaboration, and communication.
  • Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Create a classroom culture that is safe, respectful, organized, and engaging.
  • Build positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations for behavior and academic achievement.
  • Promote student curiosity, resilience, responsibility, and independence.
  • Effectively manage classroom procedures and laboratory safety.
  • Work collaboratively with middle school faculty to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Partner with learning specialists and administration to support student success.
  • Maintain regular, proactive communication with parents regarding student progress.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other assigned duties.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate lesson plans, attendance, grades, and student records.
  • Participate actively in school improvement initiatives and professional learning.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a growth mindset.
  • Support the mission and values of Bader Hillel Academy.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching middle school or upper elementary students.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Preferred
  • Experience teaching life science, physical science, earth science, or STEM.
  • Experience with inquiry-based, project-based, or experiential learning.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and Google Workspace for Education.
  • Experience working in independent, private, or faith-based schools.
