The Assistant Director of Inclusion and Belonging plays a key role in fostering an inclusive, supportive campus environment where all Marquette students feel valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. This role serves as one of the main implementation leaders for initiatives and programs that promote deep student engagement, well‑being, and success. They will be an essential partner in designing and delivering a co‑curriculum that promotes a strong culture of belonging among all students, inspires community‑building and allyship, and serves as strong advocate for students who are the first in their families to attend college.
This person is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the university.
Develop and coordinate initiatives that promote dialogue, understanding, and collaboration between and among Marquette’s various student communities. Lead university-wide student programming focused on enhancing community‑building, peer engagement, leadership development, and the Ignatian commitment to serving others. Provide direction and support for underrepresented student programing and initiatives, including but not limited to first‑generation college students, students of color, and LGBTQ+ students.
Partner with DBSA colleagues and other campus stakeholders to integrate belonging efforts into the overall student experience ure that all efforts are informed by best practices. Working with the Director and other campus stakeholders to create a vibrant and welcoming student experience rooted in Ignation values, university priorities, and college student development.
Implement mentorship and peer support initiatives to enhance student retention and success. Develop targeted outreach strategies and interventions to support students navigating academic and personal challenges. Plan an awareness campaign and educational programming for important events including but not limited to;
First‑Gen Collective monthly series, First‑Gen Week, and the RISE (Ready to Inspire Success and Excellence) Program.…
