Job Duties:

The Children's Learning Center is looking for two toddler Lead Educators. Final classroom placement may be flexible and based on enrollment and Center need.
The Lead Educator is responsible for curriculum, staff performance, environment and communication in the classroom. The person in this position is responsible for understanding and communicating the needs of children and their families, and the interrelationship between these needs and the Center. The individual will supervise student staff working in their classroom space. Lead Educators must maintain in-service and continuing education requirements as mandated by, state licensing and accreditation.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
  • Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
  • Mentors new teachers and students
  • Evaluates individualized and developmental educational plans for children in collaboration with other stakeholders, as needed
  • Plans and facilitates classroom programming and schedules daily classroom activities for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums

$38,506

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Special Education or NAEYC equivalent is required upon start date
  • Certification in hands-on Pediatric First Aid, AED and CPR is required upon start date and must be maintained during incumbency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years documented experience teaching infants or toddlers
  • Documented experience in a campus child care program
  • Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills
  • Evidence of the ability to work well in a complex, team environment with both professional and student staff
  • Documented ability to apply knowledge of child development to both curriculum development and its implementation in the classroom
  • Evidence of the ability to understand and communicate children's development and needs to families.
