Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Previous experience teaching high school students, preferably in a special education setting
• Strong instructional skills in reading, including individualized and small group support
• Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Dedication to fostering academic and personal growth among students with varying abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, onsite reading instruction for students receiving special education services in grades 9-12
• Maintain and document required instructional minutes specific to reading interventions
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other educational professionals
• Offer academic and emotional support, encouraging students to reach their fullest potential
• Coordinate with families, support staff, and other teachers to align educational strategies and goals
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, adapting approaches as needed
