Overview
Are you ready to lead innovation in stamping engineering? Our client is seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to drive advancements in stamping technology. This role is crucial for standardizing processes, enhancing cost efficiency, and ensuring asset reliability in a world-class manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and deploy lean tools to enhance key performance indicators such as scrap reduction, labor efficiency, and safety performance.
- Develop and propose new stamping technologies, including design, specification, and cost estimation.
- Establish and refine standardized systems and processes to ensure top-tier performance, including detailed instructions, operating specifications, and preventive maintenance plans.
- Enhance and standardize preventative maintenance programs for stamping tools and equipment, leveraging industry best practices.
- Provide training and guidance for stamping processes and associated secondary operations.
- Ensure consistent engineering, documentation, and sustainability of stamping processes.
- Drive readiness of processes and equipment, ensuring delivery of capable and error-proofed stamped products.
- Offer expert design recommendations for new and existing components to achieve consistent, high-performance manufacturing.
- Support tooling strategies to meet objectives within 8 weeks, focusing on standardized designs, fabrication processes, cost, and quality.
- Utilize lean concepts and industry benchmarks to streamline operations and eliminate inefficiencies in design, manufacturing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
This role may involve supervising salaried associates, including responsibilities such as interviewing, training, setting objectives, performance appraisal, and development planning.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in stamping tooling or processing/engineering.
- Strong background in stamping, with an emphasis on tooling design, manufacturing, cost estimation, and maintenance.
- Proficient in data-driven decision-making, analysis, and presentation.
- Proven ability to implement change through lean concepts and process improvements.
- Strong influencing skills through effective communication and insightful presentation.
- Project management experience in a team environment.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and quality control.
- Experience with simulation and CREO/PRO-E software is a plus.
