Hardware Engineer – Onsite | Milwaukee, WI
We’re hiring a hands-on Hardware Engineer to join a product development team building next-generation industrial automation hardware.
This is a true engineering role — not maintenance, not manufacturing support. You’ll design complex boards, work with embedded systems and FPGAs, run compliance testing, and ship real products used in industrial environments worldwide.
If you like owning hardware from schematic through production, this one’s worth a look.
What You’ll Work OnYou’ll be part of a core hardware team responsible for full product development, including:
- Microcontroller and embedded system design
- Memory system architecture
- FPGA / CPLD-based circuit design (VHDL or Verilog exposure is a plus)
- Ethernet and USB hardware design, testing, and certification
- Digital and analog circuits, power supplies, and I/O
- Board-level and system-level verification testing
- Signal integrity measurements using scopes and network analyzers
- EMI/EMC design, testing, and regulatory certifications
- Prototype builds — from BOM creation through build changes and validation
- Environmental and compliance testing for production hardware
- Functional safety development (IEC 61508)
You’ll collaborate closely with the hardware team to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality across shipped products.
What We’re Looking For- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics or embedded hardware design
- Experience with microcontrollers and high-speed interfaces
- Exposure to FPGA/CPLD design preferred
- Comfort working independently and owning designs end-to-end
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
- Work on real products that ship into industrial environments
- High ownership and technical depth
- Strong exposure to regulated, safety-critical hardware
If you’re looking for a role where your designs go into production and matter in the field, this is a strong opportunity.
