Systems Test Engineer is responsible for defining, developing, and integrating Li‑ion and ultra capacitor battery systems that meet OEM specifications and regulatory requirements for 12V–48V automotive applications.
Responsibilities- Develop and integrate Li‑ion and ultra capacitor energy storage systems, ensuring full compliance with OEM and regulatory standards.
- Apply strong knowledge of Li‑ion battery system functionality, safety, and performance.
- Define electrical, thermal, and mechanical interfaces between the battery pack, ultra capacitor module, and Battery Management System (BMS).
- Lead and execute Design Verification (DV) and Production Validation (PV) testing, including creating and managing Design Verification Plans (DVPs) to ensure comprehensive validation of system performance, durability, and compliance.
- Experience in System life cycle studies, thermal modeling, and electrical load analysis for predictive performance assessments.
- Act as a technical liaison between systems, mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software engineering teams, ensuring effective integration and smooth cross‑functional collaboration throughout the testing and validation process.
- Develop and Execute system integration, verification, and validation plans .
- Execute system-level tests, analyze results, and drive issue resolution.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including electrical, mechanical, software, and safety engineering.
- Support DFMEA, test plans, failure analysis, and design reviews.
- Interface with OEM teams to ensure alignment and successful program delivery.
- Prepare technical documentation and test reports.
- Hands‑on experience with system integration and testing of power electronics (e.g: DCDCs, battery systems).
- Strong understanding of Li‑Ion or ultra capacitor technologies.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
- Proficiency with requirements management tools (Jama, DOORS) and validation frameworks.
- Knowledge of automotive standards, functional safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with V‑Model development, especially verification and validation phases.
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, CAN tools, and data loggers.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, system requirements, and test results.
- Experience with low‑voltage (12V–48V) automotive energy storage systems.
- Background with DFMEA, DVPR, and system safety processes.
- Experience with battery management systems (BMS) or power conversion modules.
- Experience with different Environmental, Mechanical, and Electrical testing associated with Li‑Ion Battery or ultra capacitor technologies.
