Job Summary
The Combustion Turbine Engineer provides subject matter expertise, engineering support, project management, contractor oversight and technical work direction to the fleet of combustion turbine based power generation assets. In coordination with plant personnel and other stakeholders, the engineer will provide for the planning, execution, oversight and documentation of unit outages, periodic major maintenance events (such as combustion inspections, hot gas path inspections, major inspections, and overhauls), routine inspections, component repairs, equipment modifications and plant condition monitoring.
This role supports equipment reliability, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance, in addition to Power Generation business unit initiatives.
- Responsible for the provision of wide-ranging technical and operational support of power plant operations and maintenance (O&M) activities, capital improvement efforts, thermal performance management, and programs focused on equipment reliability, safety and regulatory compliance. In addition to providing support of day‑to‑day power plant activities, this role further supports long‑term asset management efforts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to power plant equipment operations, maintenance and performance. Identify, formulate and implement technical solutions to address such issues, through analysis, inspection, testing and the application of engineering subject matter expertise.
- Compile and analyze data to identify ways to improve plant reliability, thermal efficiency, and adherence to approved O&M and capital budgets (which may include the identification of cost reduction opportunities). Recommend equipment upgrades or operational changes to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage assigned O&M and capital projects, including the development of related project scope, schedule, budget, approval requests, cost forecasting and status reporting. Evaluate options and provide recommended solutions when developing such projects. Provide project and outage related contractor oversight.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Relevant engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of prior power generation experience, including specialized knowledge of combustion turbine technology, rotating equipment and related unit operations and maintenance activities.
- Experience with heavy‑duty and aero‑derivative combustion turbines, ideally including the following turbine models: GE 7FA, GE 7EA, Siemens/Westinghouse 501F, ABB/Alstom GT11N, and Pratt & Whitney FT4.
- Strong analytical abilities and communication skills, attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to coordinate well with team members (including external and non‑departmental entities) to achieve success on complex technical projects.
