Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural engineering principles and practices, with a strong background in structural and geo‑structural engineering and design, specifically for power and utility sector facilities. A strong background in dams and hydropower projects is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to provide structural engineering designs for a variety of projects across the utility industry.
This position demands exceptional knowledge of the industry and the ability to communicate this knowledge to clients and the growing project team. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will assist in producing a variety of engineering tasks to help our clients' projects succeed by proactively navigating and effectively managing issues and challenges that arise.
This is a full‑time benefits eligible opportunity that can be based anywhere in the US. The anticipated annual salary for this position is between $125,900 and $183,100 annually, depending upon qualifications and experience.

- Perform and review structural and geo‑structural analysis and design for a variety of steel and reinforced concrete structures associated with:
- Electric substations and transmission structures
- Power generation facilities
- Dams, spillways, and hydropower structures
- Building foundations and ground treatment
- Utility and industrial infrastructure
- Design and evaluate deep and shallow foundations including drilled shafts, driven piles, micropiles, spread footings, and mat foundations.
- Support dam safety evaluations, rehabilitation projects, and new hydropower designs.
- Collaborate closely with geotechnical, civil, electrical, and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, specifications, and design and construction drawings.
- Lead and perform field inspection and detailed structural condition assessments of existing concrete and steel infrastructure.
- Provide construction phase engineering support, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and field observations.
- Ensure compliance with AISC, ACI, ASCE, AASHTO, FERC, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Participate in client coordination, proposal development, and technical presentations as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to quality control and internal technical standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in civil/structural engineering or a closely related field.
