Responsibilities
As an Electrical Project Coordinator, you will:
- Review and process Requests for Material (RFM) and Requests for Information (RFI) from the production floor, handling independently when possible or rerouting to the appropriate team member.
- Monitor and report on project statuses, proactively identifying and reducing RFMs and RFIs to streamline project timelines.
- Coordinate material pricing and availability with the design and purchasing teams to ensure timely project execution.
- Act as an extension of the purchasing team within the electrical group, supporting material procurement and resource allocation.
- Analyze and monitor inventory parts, ensuring proper tracking and availability for project needs.
- Collaborate with design engineers to retrieve essential electrical information for ongoing projects.
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure job materials are staged and prepared for use.
- Assist with material handling as necessary, contributing to the overall efficiency of the project.
- Track and fulfill missing electrical materials post-shipment to ensure no delays in project progress.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and external partners.
- Strong knowledge of the RFQ (Request for Quote) process and experience interfacing with vendors.
- Organizational skills with the ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with material handling.
- Ability to drive a personal vehicle between various area facilities (mileage compensation provided).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- 2-4 years of education in electrical technology, construction management, business management, project management, or a related STEM field.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor or similar.
- Familiarity with electrical products such as conduit, wire, cable, and fittings (or willingness to learn).
- Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) (or willingness to learn).
