Safety Specialist Job Description
The Safety Specialist will develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and programs in alignment with OSHA, FDA, and pharmaceutical industry standards. This role involves conducting risk assessments, monitoring compliance, and ensuring the safety of all construction activities.
Responsibilities- Develop site‑specific safety programs in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments related to chemical handling, cleanroom construction, and equipment installation.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Regularly audit construction areas to identify unsafe practices, equipment misuse, or environmental risks.
- Lead investigations into accidents, near‑mises, and safety violations, recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs on hazardous materials, confined spaces, and emergency response.
- Maintain accurate documentation of safety audits, permits, incident reports, and compliance certifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to integrate safety into all construction phases.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing safety plans in accordance with OSHA, FDA, and industry standards.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Ability to lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Strong skills in coordinating and delivering safety training programs.
- Excellent documentation skills for safety audits and compliance certifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety.
- 0-2 years of experience as a safety specialist in a construction company.
- OSHA 30 certification.
Work primarily at the Microsoft Data Center in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin, with the first month based out of an office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable data center experience in a rapidly growing industry.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
