As a Construction Engineer based in southern Wisconsin, you’ll join our collaborative team delivering award-winning engineering, construction management, and design-build projects. You’ll provide construction engineering and inspection services on highway, roadway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Responsibilities- Task Lead and/or Inspector on WisDOT projects
- Document contractor progress and quantities completed
- Perform daily inspections to verify that the Contractor work is being completed in accordance with the contract documents
- Prepare daily construction reports identifying contractor workforce, equipment, and activities, site visitors, and daily progress photos
- Review contract plans, specifications, submittals and material information
- Report and document any field conditions that deviate from the Contract
- Utilize contract documents to perform general monitoring and documentation of construction activities
Position based in the Milwaukee or Madison areas. You will communicate with the Jacobs team, clients, and contractors to mitigate project risks and support the project team. Onsite employees are required to be on a Jacobs workplace full-time, as required by the nature of the role.
Required Qualifications- At least 8 years of experience on roadway/highway, bridge, or general civil construction projects
- Previous experience on WisDOT construction projects
- Ability to drive to/from project locations in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois
- Working knowledge of construction engineering and document control
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills
- Local to Milwaukee or Madison, WI – preferably Milwaukee
- WisDOT HTCP certifications for Portland Cement Concrete Technician and Nuclear Density Technician
- OSHA 10- or 30-hour training
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Micro Station, Civil3D and/or AutoCAD

SalaryThe base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
