Applications Engineer (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

Greater Milwaukee area (On-site with 1 day remote flexibility)

Base salary: $85,000 – $115,000 + up to 10% bonus

A highly stable, growth-oriented electrical products manufacturer is seeking a Bilingual Applications Engineer to join its North American HQ. This organization has a 40+ year track record as a safety leader in industrial electrical connectors and is targeting 2x growth over the next 5–10 years

This is a high-visibility, customer-facing engineering role that blends technical problem-solving, product application guidance, and internal collaboration—offering significant exposure and long-term growth into quoting and sales-support engineering.

You will serve as the primary bilingual technical resource
, acting as a key liaison between customers, distributors, sales teams, and internal engineering. This role is especially critical as the sole Spanish-speaking engineering resource
, supporting communication with a Mexico-based team.

• Manage inbound technical inquiries via email and phone (~10 calls/day)
• Provide product selection guidance, troubleshooting, and application support
• Cross-reference competitor products and recommend solutions
• Support distributors and inside sales with technical questions
• Own all technical communication with internal Mexico operations (Spanish)
• Develop quotes for custom product configurations
• Assist with product testing and resolving manufacturing/application issues
• Occasionally travel to customer sites (primarily U.S.; decreasing over time)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
• 5+ years in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Fluency in English & Spanish (critical)
• Experience with electro-mechanical products
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability
• Customer-facing communication skills and adaptability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and inquiries

• Familiarity with NEC codes and UL standards
• Experience cross-referencing competitor products
• Background supporting distributors or inside sales
• Exposure to Solid Works (light usage)
• French language (nice-to-have)
• Licensed electrician background with strong technical aptitude

• Applications Engineers or Technical Support Engineers in industrial manufacturing
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineers with strong customer interaction experience
• Individuals from organizations such as ABB, Rockwell Automation, Yaskawa, or similar
• Candidates with backgrounds in drives, injection molding, or industrial electrical components
• Technically strong electricians looking to transition into engineering
