Position Summary

We are seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to design, develop, and support advanced power conversion systems used in industrial drive and automation applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong technical expertise in power electronics, control systems, and system integration who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and develop power electronic converters (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC) for industrial drive systems

* Create and validate designs for rectifiers, inverters, and high-power switching circuits

* Perform circuit simulation, modeling, and analysis (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink)

* Support control algorithm development for power conversion and motor control systems

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including controls, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering

* Conduct design verification testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

* Provide technical support during prototype builds, system integration, and field installations

* Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications

* Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and product performance

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)

* 3+ years of experience in power electronics design and development

* Strong knowledge of:

* Power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes)

* Switching power supplies and converter topologies

* Magnetics design (transformers, inductors)

* Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink)

* Understanding of control systems and feedback loops

* Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electronic systems

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with high-power industrial systems (medium or high voltage)

* Familiarity with motor drives and motion control systems

* Knowledge of embedded systems or DSP/FPGA-based control

* Experience with UL, IEEE, or IEC standards

* Experience in thermal management and reliability analysis

This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
