My client is a well established, nationally recognised engineering and environmental consultancy with over 1,400 employees operating from 30+ offices across the United States, alongside an international presence. Known for technical excellence, collaborative delivery, and a strong people first culture, the firm offers engineers the opportunity to work on complex, high profile projects while continuing to grow their technical and leadership capabilities.
They are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Milwaukee based team. This role is suited to an experienced geotechnical professional who enjoys combining hands on technical work, field involvement, and cross disciplinary collaboration. You will play a key role in delivering high quality geotechnical solutions for large scale development and construction projects.
- Design geotechnical elements including earth structures, deep foundations, retaining walls, support of excavation, and underpinning systems
- Support project managers with field coordination and technical input throughout the project lifecycle
- Scope, oversee, and support geotechnical investigations and construction activities
- Perform and document periodic inspections of geotechnical construction works
- Coordinate subsurface investigations and contribute to geotechnical report preparation
- Prepare standard field documentation including drilling and test pit logs, daily reports, and chain of custody records
- Participate in required fieldwork and site visits
- Contribute to team objectives and support additional duties as required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's in Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred)
- 3+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical investigations and construction inspection
- FE / EIT certification preferred
- Experience coordinating field investigations and preparing geotechnical reports and specifications
- Prior field exposure to earthworks, driven and drilled piles, load testing, subgrade inspections, ground improvement methods, retaining walls, and excavation support systems
- Familiarity with geotechnical software such as gINT, Slide / SLOPE‑W, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, or SHAKE
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Comfortable working both independently and within collaborative project teams
- Willingness to perform fieldwork as required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job site and client visits

What you can expect- Competitive salary range: $72,000 - $104,000, depending on experience and qualifications
