Manufacturing (Full Time, Exempt)
Underthe direction of the General Manager - Manufacturing, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and engineering of complex, modular skid‑mounted systems from concept through fabrication and commissioning.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably involving modular systems, skid packages, industrial equipment, or process systems (required)
- Proven experience delivering high‑level designs suitable for estimating and proposal development
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and fabrication methods
- Experience with skid‑mounted process systems, industrial piping, or packaged equipment
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturability and modular construction practices
- Proficiency with 3D CAD and engineering design software
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non‑engineering stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Practical, solutions‑oriented mindset with attention to detail
- Lead the mechanical design of complex modular skid systems, including structural frames, piping layouts, equipment selection and integration, and mechanical assemblies
- Develop high‑level conceptual and preliminary designs during the estimating phase to support accurate labor, material, and schedule estimates
- Collaborate closely with estimating, project management, fabrication, and operations teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and cost‑effective
- Produce and review detailed engineering deliverables including P&IDs, layouts, general arrangements, and design calculations
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications (ASME, ASTM, API, etc., as applicable)
- Provide technical guidance during fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation phases
- Identify and resolve design risks early in the project lifecycle
- Support value engineering efforts to optimize system performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Participate in design reviews with internal stakeholders and customers
- Mentor junior engineers and support engineering best practices as needed
