About the Role

The Building Engineering Services (BES) group of MN/WI is looking for a motivated Structural EIT or Design Coordinator to join our growing team. This early-career role offers opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects across healthcare, civic, tech, commercial, water, and light industrial sectors throughout the country, many of which are located in high‑seismic areas.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a full‑service design team to develop concepts for superstructures of new buildings and vertical structures, or investigate existing structures.
  • Conduct analyses, develop design options, and assist in preparing construction drawings, reports, cost estimates, and specifications for structural engineering projects.
  • Assist with the design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures, including repair, retrofit, or rehabilitation of existing or historic structures.
  • Prepare engineering calculations in conformance with applicable codes (ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI).
  • Solve challenging, complex problems that require creativity and a willingness to learn.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments involving 3D analysis software, classical engineering methods, and hand calculations.
  • Work independently on small projects or support senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Provide direction to BIM, administrative, and technical personnel; perform selected BIM work.
  • Assist with shop drawing review, requests for information, and other construction administration tasks.
  • Participate in site observations and prepare field observation reports for projects under construction, or conduct facility condition assessments of existing buildings.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • 2‑4 years of experience preferred; entry‑level candidates considered.
  • Candidates hired without EIT will be titled "Coordinator" and expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Bentley RAM Structural System, or STAAD.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Strong commitment to participating actively in the employee‑owned culture.
Location Preference

Milwaukee‑based candidates are preferred. Candidates located in Madison with 2+ years of experience will be considered.
