SummaryThe Corporate Electrical Engineer will be a resource across Brakebush Brothers multi‑plants as a key designer and researcher of technical solutions and engineering support. This role plays an integral part in designing and implementing improvements to our industrial power distribution, incident energy, new equipment, and control systems.
Essential Functions- Design industrial control systems for all facilities, including comprehensive assessment of machines and creating control systems from scratch (panel layout, schematics, heat load calculations, SCCR studies, firmware, programming).
- Lead capital projects from conception to completion: work with vendors for quotes, purchase items, manage schedule and budget.
- Modify, audit, update and manage control system programs across all facilities; manage firmware updates, security protocols and system integrations.
- Design industrial power distribution systems: draw and update single‑line diagrams and collaborate with lead engineer and facilities to meet project requirements.
- Conduct incident energy calculations and site surveys to aid system design, troubleshoot problems, and recommend improvements.
- Review new equipment designs and performance criteria; identify solutions, risks, and technical guidance for implementation and utilization; serve as subject‑matter expert for partners, vendors and contractors; commission new equipment.
- Stay current with industry regulations and codes, including 508UL; evaluate new control technologies for reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Electrical Engineering degree (or related) OR 5+ years electrical engineering experience.
- 3+ years experience in control system design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated competency with incident energy calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams).
- Proficient with Rockwell software or equivalent programming software.
- Competence in SKM software.
- Experience in food manufacturing operations and/or conceptual design.
- Knowledge of manufacturing automation systems.
No supervisory duties.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily office environment with requirement to work in wide variations in temperature (-40° °C freezers, 32° °C coolers, 40° °C production area, wet cold environment); noise, slippery floors and moving equipment in operations setting.
Physical DemandsExtensive standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, wearing factory equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving.
Position TypeThis is an exempt role; may be asked to change schedule and work ‘off’ shifts.
TravelTravel to other production facilities as needed (up to 20%); most will require overnight stays.
