Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team supporting heavy civil construction projects in the Milwaukee area. This role is ideal for a candidate with a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field who is eager to build a career in infrastructure projects such as roadway, earthwork, utilities, and site development.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day coordination of heavy civil projects

* Support planning and tracking of project schedules, budgets, and production quantities

* Review plans, specifications, and bid documents for compliance and constructability

* Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and municipalities

* Assist with RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation

* Track and manage material quantities, cost projections, and job progress

* Participate in project meetings and document key updates and action items

* Perform site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality control

* Help ensure compliance with DOT, municipal, and safety regulations

* Support documentation for pay applications, daily reports, and project records

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field required

* Internship or co-op experience in heavy civil, transportation, or site development projects is a plus

* Basic understanding of:

* Earthwork, grading, utilities, or roadway construction

* Construction drawings, specifications, and project life cycles

* Strong organizational and time management skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

* Exposure to construction management software (Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam, Primavera, etc.) is a plus

* Strong communication skills and ability to work with both office and field teams

* Willingness to spend time in both office and active job site environments

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $33.65/hr.
