Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced and driven Staff Mechanical Engineer. This on-site position in Glendale, WI is responsible for executing projects supporting new product development, and sustaining existing product lines, across a portfolio that includes valves and actuators, refrigeration controls, BAS controllers, sensors, and thermostats.
As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of innovative electromechanical products. You will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through production, applying advanced engineering principles, simulation tools, and hands‑on prototyping to deliver reliable, cost‑effective solutions on schedule.

Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design and development of new electromechanical products, including actuators, valves, motorized assemblies, and gear‑driven systems.
- Proven success in leading new product development design efforts for complex electromechanical products.
- Manage and track project deliverables, including design updates, timing, and milestone reporting.
- Design and optimize injection‑molded plastic components, ensuring manufacturability, durability, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Perform detailed FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for structural, thermal, and dynamic performance validation.
- Utilize 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques to create concept models and functional prototypes for internal evaluation and customer feedback.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Project Management, Test Lab, Supply and Manufacturing.
- Support sustaining engineering efforts including VAVE projects, product enhancements, and quality issues.
- Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs using tools such as Creo.
