We are working with a growing manufacturer in the Milwaukee area that designs and builds custom machinery. They are looking to add a Controls Engineer to support new equipment development, system integration, and ongoing plant automation initiatives.

This is a hands‑on role with strong exposure to PLC programming, HMI development, and troubleshooting in a production environment.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Design, program, and troubleshoot control systems for industrial equipment
  • Develop and modify PLC programs (Rockwell / Allen‑Bradley preferred)
  • Create and maintain HMI interfaces for operators and technicians
  • Support equipment integration, commissioning, and startup activities
  • Work cross‑functionally with engineering, maintenance, and production teams
  • Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues on the manufacturing floor
  • Assist with continuous improvement and automation projects
What they’re looking for:
  • 2+ years of experience in controls engineering or industrial automation
  • Hands‑on experience with PLC programming (Rockwell / Allen‑Bradley preferred)
  • Experience with HMI development and system troubleshooting
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work on the production floor
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Travel:
  • Under 5 trips per year
  • Travel is regional (Midwest) and typically a few days at a time
