Surveying Intern

Collins offers an opportunity for an engineering student to gain experience surveying. The Milwaukee, WI office has an opening for a Surveying Intern position for Summer 2026
. This position will be a combination of office and time in the field. This position will provide the opportunity to support the survey team by performing field work and the processing of data. • Perform field survey work, including network control surveys, right of way plats, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, construction surveys, 3D modeling, and LIDAR scanning.
• Perform field investigations and surveys to support the creation and maintenance of digital base mapping and parcel mapping.
• Use various surveying programs to gather, review and process field data.
• Assist with survey control, quality assurance survey, and volume computations.
• Assist with conducting construction modeling, staking, and file recordkeeping.
• Use 3D technologies to identify and resolve conflicts.
• Assist with conducting topographic mapping, scanning, and modeling.
• Perform mathematical computations concerning survey measurements and land records.
• Maintain survey field notes, sketches and other documentation.
• Maintain, prepare and use surveying equipment.
• Actively observe and act in an appropriate manner related to safety.
• Relocation is available.
