Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the Tech Rep team in accurately and efficiently preparing quotes and estimates for machining projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining processes, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. Working with the Tech Reps, Outside Sales team, Technical Process Managers, engineering, subject matter experts, and other internal resources, the Manager of Quoting and Estimating will ensure project planning, technical suitability, and pricing standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities- Quoting and Estimating:
Lead the team in preparing accurate and competitive quotes and estimates for machining projects considering factors such as material costs, labor, time, and overhead expenses. - Market Analysis:
Stay informed about industry trends, market pricing, and competitor strategies to ensure the company remains competitive. - Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate quoting and estimating. Foster effective communication and collaboration for team members, manage employee reviews, and participate in interviews. - Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and improve the quoting and estimating process to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline workflows. - Cost Management:
Monitor and manage costs associated with machining projects to ensure profitability and adherence to budgetary constraints. - Client Communication:
Interface with clients to discuss and clarify project requirements, negotiate pricing, and address any concerns or questions related to quotes and estimates. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed and organized records of quotes, estimates, and related communications. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible related experience. Specifically, this position requires;
Experience with Microsoft Windows software (Word, Excel, PPT, etc). - Experience with general computer software.
- Ability to review and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Proficient interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in a mechanical or machining environment, preferred.
- Project management training and/or experience, preferred.
- Leadership and team management experience.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. These include forklift traffic, overhead cranes, machining, welding, moving of mechanical parts and moderate noise. The majority of the work is performed indoors in a shop and office environment. Will spend a minimal amount of time outdoors in hot, cold, or otherwise inclement weather during part of the workweek.

- OSHA 10 (Training provided).
- Valid driver’s license, required.
- Travel Time – up to 20% (daily, overnight and weekends).
- Travel Locations: job sites (domestic and international) and company facilities.
