A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the successful launch of new products and drive operational excellence across production operations. This position plays a key role in developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes while partnering with engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product introductions and sustainable process performance.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing engineering, capital equipment implementation, process improvement, and new product development within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities New Product Introduction & Manufacturing Development- Lead manufacturing activities associated with new product launches from concept through production.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and workflows to support new product introductions.
- Participate in product development reviews, stage-gate activities, and manufacturing readiness assessments.
- Create manufacturing plans, process documentation, cost estimates, risk assessments, and production validation activities.
- Ensure manufacturing requirements are incorporated throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, throughput, and operational efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Analyze manufacturing data and process performance to drive measurable improvements.
- Develop optimized plant layouts, workflow designs, and material flow strategies to reduce waste and improve operational effectiveness.
- Support change management efforts related to process enhancements and operational improvements.
- Manage capital equipment and facility improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Coordinate project budgeting, vendor selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Evaluate manufacturing technologies and automation opportunities to support future growth objectives.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering team members.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Support organizational initiatives focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing standards.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
- Participate in risk assessments, process validations, and continuous improvement reviews.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of five years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), New Product Development (NPD), or product launch activities.
- Proven experience leading manufacturing process development and implementation projects.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing capital equipment installations, production line expansions, or facility improvement projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience applying Six Sigma methodologies and leading structured improvement projects.
- Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing design tools.
- Experience with Process FMEA development and risk mitigation strategies.
- Project management experience within manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to automation, advanced manufacturing technologies, or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
