Tech Electric is currently in a phase of high growth, and we are looking for a high-motor, strategically minded Director of Sales to seize this momentum and spearhead our Electrical Contractor channel.
This isn't a "maintenance" role. We are moving fast, and we need a motivated, high-velocity leader who thrives in a scaling environment. You need the technical grit to win in the trenches of low- and medium-voltage power distribution and the professional poise to execute our demand strategy. Your goal is simple: transform electrical contractors into long-term, high-yield partners while we continue to build lasting relationships and provide solutions to our customers’ problems.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Market Leadership- Project Pursuit: Oversee the end-to-end pursuit of construction projects of all sizes—from the pre-design phase through to project close-out.
- Competitive Intelligence: Monitor market shifts, competitor pricing, and delivery timelines to adjust Tech Electric’s market positioning.
- Specification Influence: Lead the team in "Value Engineering" efforts—providing contractors with technical alternatives that reduce labor/material costs while maintaining compliance with project specifications.
- System Solutions: Promote integrated solutions across Low/Medium Voltage Switchgear, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and digital power monitoring software.
- Pipeline Management: Utilize CRM tools to manage a multi-million dollar pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and high "win rates" on quoted projects.
- Critical Path Management: Take full ownership of the submittal-to-delivery pipeline; proactively track technical submittal approvals and manufacturing cycles to ensure equipment arrives on-site exactly when the contractor needs it.
- Pricing & Negotiation: Oversee the quotation process for complex bids, ensuring competitive positioning.
- Distributor Synergy: Coordinate with distribution partners to ensure seamless fulfillment and inventory support for contractor-led projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry, with at least 3 years in sales to the construction/contractor channel.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of low- and medium-voltage power distribution, Arc Flash safety standards, and NEMA/IEEE codes.
- Software: Proficiency in electrical manufacturers’ quotation software and CRM platforms preferred.
