Primary Function

Works with industry & universities to develop new technologies and standards. Acts as technical leader within the company, providing technical direction to colleagues and ensuring they have the necessary information for project success.

Responsibilities
  • Identify projects valuable to the company.
  • Utilize CAE software such as Solidworks, MATLAB, Lab View, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA, etc., and interpret results.
  • Communicate technical material effectively to internal business units.
  • Collaborate with product design and manufacturing teams; lead best practice meetings; contribute to operational excellence.
  • Understand AOS processes and customer needs; participate in industry best practices; demonstrate recognized expertise.
  • Achieve significant technical accomplishments for the company.
  • Balance and prioritize multiple projects within schedule and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate projects with outside funding sources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of related experience or training.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Stay informed on competitor activities and new product developments.
  • Reputation for expertise and accomplishments.
  • Experience collaborating on patents, trade secrets, or publications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and project identification ability.
  • Proficiency in discipline-specific CAE software.
  • Effective communication of technical material.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
