A Designer is involved in the application of engineering fundamentals to the design of building HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and/or electrical systems. This is a developmental position in which the designer learns to apply theoretical knowledge to practical application.
Typical DutiesThe following duties are typical of the position but are not all-encompassing. Each person is expected to help in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule.
Has authority to perform design duties, which are checked for accuracy by themselves & others. Keeps the Project/Designer/Engineer aware of workload and requests work when needed.
Requirements Knowledge and Experience Required1. Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
2. Continue the learning process by attending in-house seminars and continuing education opportunities outside of the office. Completion of the Engineering-in-Training exam is encouraged.
3. Experience with Autodesk Revit and load calculation software such as IES VE, Trane TRACE 3D, or Carrier HAP. Experience with IES VE is a plus.
