Job Description
We are looking for a Materials Engineer to be part of the Chemistry & Materials Engineering group. You will support the selection, modification, improvement, and troubleshooting of different fabrication processes used in industrial products, including metal and polymer. You will become a technical subject matter expert, defining critical requirements for new processes and collaborating with engineers and scientists to evaluate material properties and ensure process integrity.
You will be a liaison between our manufacturing plants and the analytical lab to use lab results to aid production.
You will report to our Senior Manager, Chemistry & Materials and Product Performance Testing.
Your Responsibilities:- Be a materials technical contact for our processes.
- Define, maintain and create material and process specifications.
- Analyze materials in a laboratory setting to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
- Partner with internal teams, including Sourcing, Supplier Quality and Manufacturing, and Development Engineers to evaluate material properties, specify materials or processes, help improve processes, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree

- You Might Also Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years experience in an industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or laboratory environment.
- Experience with common metal forming, heat treating, and joining processes, including plating and coating technologies.
- Understand critical-to-quality process parameters.
- Experience with the instruments used in qualification testing and their resulting data; for example: SEM, XRF, microscopy, environmental and mechanical testing.
