OpportunityAs a Civil Engineer in Training in the Community Development Group, you will work on a wide variety of innovative and diverse land development projects. The role involves collaborating with design teams on construction plans and specifications, preparing reports and studies, computing quantities and cost estimates, assisting in coordination and management of construction activities, and observing field work.
Key Responsibilities- Perform civil design and technical tasks on projects under the supervision of the Project Manager or Project Engineer.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in coordination of the project.
- Execute data analysis and calculations for civil system components.
- Collect data and gather information to support design decisions.
- Conduct field work and construction observation under supervision of a senior engineer or construction manager.
- Interpret and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
- Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written, with project team members, clients, and contractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong foundational understanding of general civil engineering concepts.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thinking.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs and related materials.
- Good communication skills, attentiveness to detail, and multi‑tasking ability.
- Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, One Note, One Drive), AutoCAD, and Civil3D.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of related professional work or co‑op/internship experience preferred.
- Engineer‑in‑Training designation, successful completion of the EIT exam, or ability to take the EIT exam within six months of starting preferred.

In compliance with pay‑transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions where required. Compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Part‑time compensation is prorated for the agreed number of working hours per week.
