Responsibilities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A Geologist at SET Engineering is responsible to:
Assist project managers in execution of project work on time and within budget. Perform field work consisting of soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling. Complete environmental investigation activities such as overseeing drilling activities, logging soil, and installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells. Complete Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Evaluate environmental data by comparing data to state or federal clean-up standards.
Complete stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) for commercial and industrial clients. Prepare spill prevention, control and countermeasure plans (SPCC) for commercial and industrial clients. Provide environmental expertise for new projects and project improvements. Lead continuous improvement efforts and assess management of change requirements. Miscellaneous duties as needed.
- BS in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
- 1-5 years of experience in the Environmental Engineering field.
- EIT or Professional Geologist preferred.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, as well as organizational skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and independently within the company and with the customer, vendors, and associates.
- Must be flexible to work different hours as needed by the department/business.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in challenging conditions.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Knowledge of government environmental compliance regulations and procedures.
- Ability to travel (25%–50%).
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred.
