The Role

Hydraulic Product Engineer

We are seeking a Hydraulic Product Engineer to join our team and help drive our continued success. In this role, you will design, develop, maintain, and test hydraulic components and systems for commercial snow and ice related products, focusing on customer requirements, safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

How You Will Contribute
  • Design, develop, and validate hydraulic prototypes, including internal lab testing and external field testing.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, system drawings, component data sheets, technical bulletins, and applicable standards.
  • Ensure designs and processes meet or exceed company/customer standards for safety, quality, performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Maintain documentation such as design files, engineering reports, test reports, and development plans.
  • Enter, check, maintain, and complete complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs).
  • Assist in creating product literature including owner’s manuals, parts lists, installation instructions, and mechanics guides.
  • Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams, both technical and non‑technical.
  • Participate in Kaizen/3P events, root cause analysis, and design reviews.
  • Maintain a 5S culture.
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering:
    Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical/Electrical Technology (MET/EET).
  • Desire to grow professionally through continuing education and learning center opportunities.
  • 0‑5 years of experience.
Technical Skills
  • Preferred experience in automotive, agricultural, or green/white space fluid hydraulic systems and applications.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic component data sheets and part specifications.
  • Experience reading hydraulic circuit schematics.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate common hand, power, and machine tools to produce prototype parts to specifications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials common in industrial hydraulics; diagnostics and testing of hydraulic and electrical systems.
Technology / Equipment
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD/Solid Works; routing experience is a plus, 2D CAD/Draft Sight acceptable.
  • Automation Studio or similar schematic software, hydraulic test kits and data acquisition equipment, multimeter, and Microsoft suite of products.
  • Basic understanding of PLC/Ladder logic is desirable but not required.
Communication Skills
  • Listen and speak effectively with employees at all locations and levels.
  • Communicate clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Provide clear information, specifications, and details to suppliers, design partners, customers, and employees.
  • Highly effective in a team environment.
Physical Demands
  • Continuous improvement mindset; frequently required to sit, use hands for fine motor skills, use a computer and Microsoft Teams.
  • Intermittent lifting to 40 lbs.
