Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve new and existing products to meet customer, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and related technical documentation.
- Use CAD and other engineering tools to develop concepts, models, and design changes.
- Coordinate prototype builds, product testing, validation, and design reviews.
- Analyze product performance, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sales, and project teams to support product launches and ongoing production.
- Support process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and product standardization efforts.
- Ensure products comply with applicable standards, regulations, and internal quality requirements.
- Provide technical support for production, suppliers, and customers as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance product reliability, efficiency, and value.
- 3 or more years experience in a product and design engineering role with product development, testing, validation responsibilities
- Prior experience with FEA, ANSI standards in product design/development applications
- Practical working knowledge of metal fabrication processes/capabilities, tolerances, and principles of manufacturing
- Experience evaluating and implementing standard engineering processes and documentation practices
- Familiarity with quality & inspection processes/standards
- Strong detail orientation and highly analytical
- Flexible mindset, comfortable managing multiple and shifting priorities
- Comfortably, effectively communicate across internal teams, suppliers, and customers
- Able to work in an on site/in office environment full time
- Some prior experience in each a manufacturing engineering role
- Experience supporting products from concept through production launch.
- Prior experience managing vendors and establishing vendor standards
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, cost reduction, and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience with prototype development, testing, and design validation.
