We’re seeking a Plumbing Designer or Plumbing Engineer to join our growing mechanical team. At HGA, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of architects, engineers, and designers on meaningful projects spanning healthcare, science and technology, cultural institutions, corporate campuses, and infrastructure.

- Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste/vent, medical gas, storm drainage, and specialty systems.
- Collaborate with team members across disciplines from concept through construction.
- Contribute to technical documentation, specifications, and code compliance.
- Leverage BIM/Revit and other digital tools to develop coordinated designs.
- Experience in plumbing design or engineering (consulting experience preferred).
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with Revit and engineering design tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Be responsible for plumbing design, including calculating building loads for all plumbing systems, selecting equipment, laying out piping, creating and editing project details, and writing and editing project engineering specifications.
- Participate in design review meetings and workshops.
- Resolve a variety of complex design challenges, including conflicting owner and project requirements, application of different system types, or challenging field conditions.
- Research design options and document findings for the project team.
- Assure drawings and designs are in accordance with local codes and design standards.
- Coordinate with architectural and other engineering disciplines as applicable.
Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field desired.
