Job Description

The Safety Program Analyst develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining safety equipment inventory, performing periodic safety inspections, monitoring hazardous waste removal vendors, and assisting with hazardous waste consolidation. You will conduct emergency response and hazardous material handling, monitor environmental compliance, maintain liaison with regulatory agencies, and recommend corrective action for environmental health and safety hazards.

Includes ergonomic compliance-related activities.

You will report to our HQ EHS Regional Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Lead in the implementation and maintenance of the regional environmental and safety management systems to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Support, implement, maintain and modify Headquarters environmental, health and safety policies to ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and coordination on environmental, health and safety issues affecting projects and processes at regional/country levels.
  • Complete environmental, health and safety permits, reports, forms and surveys as required by regulation or Rockwell Automation policy and procedures for field and non-operations organizations, and submit them.
  • Respond to customer requests for EHS plans such as safety manuals for on-site project work and support project implementation plans.
  • Report monthly injury/illness metrics to HQ-EHS and help investigate injuries and illnesses.
  • Analyze work-related injury and illness data to implement preventive actions and reduce recurrence.
  • Support efforts to return employees to productive work within medical restrictions.
  • Ensure that environmental, health, and safety assessments are provided by regulation or policy, and deliver personal protective equipment, procedures, training, and other control measures for field and non-operations personnel.
  • Support environmental product compliance (permit registration, WEEE, RoHS, and others) with local and country entities; support product safety and liability issues.
The Essentials – You Will Have
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas currently or in the future for this job opening.
The Preferred – You Might Also Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences or Engineering or related field.
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience directly related to environmental, health, and safety aspects in a manufacturing or field service organization.
  • Proficient in country and regional safety and environmental laws, agency requirements and enforcement methods.
  • Familiarity with mining and oil/petrochemical regulatory laws and consortium requirements.
  • Understanding of business metrics related to responsibilities for use in project planning and goal support.
  • Ability to identify and cultivate relationships with internal and external customers across departments and levels.
  • Commitment to diversity in the workplace.
  • Ability to work on complex issues requiring data analysis to suggest changes and determine next steps.
  • Ability to implement standardized processes across regional business units to achieve defined goals.
  • Operate within defined policies and procedures while balancing regional and country regulatory needs.
  • Partner with business leaders across regional boundaries to support defined goals and manage change.
